Ripline (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates ripline.cards, a tool for discovering sports card listings that are for sale on eBay. This policy explains what the site collects and what it does not.
Ripline has no user accounts. You cannot register, and there is nothing to log into. We never ask for a password, and we never handle payment details — all purchases happen on eBay, and we do not see or process any part of that transaction.
We do not connect to your eBay account and we do not access your eBay data. Card listings are retrieved from eBay’s public Browse API using our own application credentials, not yours.
A session identifier. When you first use the site, a random identifier is generated and stored in your browser’s local storage. It is not tied to your name, email, or any account, because there are no accounts. It exists so that a sequence of actions can be recognized as belonging to one visit. Clearing your browser storage removes it permanently.
How the site is used. We record which cards were shown, which were kept or passed, how long a card was on screen, the listed price and category of cards you interacted with, and which outbound links were followed. Search terms entered into the site are also recorded. This is stored against the session identifier described above.
Your IP address, briefly. Requests to our API are rate-limited per IP address to prevent abuse. IP addresses are used for that check and are not stored in our analytics tables.
Details you type into a form. The site has one form, for eBay sellers who want to inquire about sponsored placement. If you use it, we receive the name, contact email, and eBay store name you enter. Nobody else is asked for personal information anywhere on the site.
Ripline does not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and does not run third-party ad networks. The session identifier described above is kept in local storage, not in a cookie.
Ripline is a participant in the eBay Partner Network, an affiliate advertising program. Links from this site to eBay carry an identifier so that eBay can attribute a resulting purchase to us and pay a commission. This costs you nothing — the price is the seller’s listed price. eBay’s own privacy policy governs what eBay collects once you follow a link and leave this site.
We do not sell your data and we do not share it for advertising. We use a small number of service providers to run the site:
Data is held in a managed Postgres database (Supabase) reached over encrypted connections, and the site is served over HTTPS. Usage records are kept while they remain useful for understanding how the site is used. Because those records are tied only to a random session identifier, they are not linked to an identifiable person.
Ripline is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
You can clear the session identifier at any time by clearing your browser’s local storage for this site. If you submitted the sponsorship form and want that inquiry deleted, email us and we will remove it.
